Copyright and License

Free University Journal of Asian Studies is an open-access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking for prior permission from the publisher or the author. Free University Journal of Asian Studies is an online publication operated by the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

Creative Commons License

Free University Journal of Asian Studies of the Free University Center for the Study of Arab Countries and the Islamic World is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License.

Authors retain the copyright of the manuscript and grant the Free University Journal of Asian Studies the right of first publication. Authors may freely post their accepted papers on personal or institutional websites or share them through other means immediately after acceptance.

Publication Charges

The submission, reviewing, editing, and publication of articles in the Free University Journal of Asian Studies are free of charge. No author fees are involved.

Deposit Policy

Under the terms of the journal’s open-access license, authors are entitled to deposit the final published version of their article in institutional and/or centrally organized repositories immediately upon publication, provided that the Journal and Publishing House are attributed as the original place of publication and that correct citation details are given. Authors are also strongly encouraged to deposit the URL of their published article in addition to the PDF version.

Archiving Policy

The main purpose of the Archives policy is to select, preserve, and make available the archives of the Free University Journal of Asian Studies. The three main objectives are:

  1. To comply with recognized national standards for the preservation of archives.
  2. To describe and publish archives according to professional standards.
  3. To make worldwide available archival material in accordance with professional practice.

The Archive contains the official records of articles, abstracts, and references published in the Free University Journal of Asian Studies. These records, worthy of permanent preservation, are of great scientific value as they include major academic results of research work.

The Free University Journal of Asian Studies stores its full-text archives at the PKP Preservation Network.

Self-archiving Policy

Authors may deposit their post-print reviewed articles to personal websites and different databases, including the title and issue date of the journal in which the article was first published.

Plagiarism Policy

This journal aims to publish original, high-quality research work. Submission of the manuscript to this journal indicates that the study has not been published anywhere or has not been submitted elsewhere for publication. If the author(s) are using any part of the published paper (in English or any other language), they should give a proper reference, or in any case, if required, they should get permission from the previous publisher or copyright holder (whichever is suitable).

Plagiarized manuscripts would not be considered for publication.

Complaint Policy

Direct contacts are the main and most preferred way of settling disputes between editorial staff, authors, and third parties in the process of reviewing and preparing articles for publication, as well as regarding already published articles. In your complaint letter, please describe clearly the nature of the complaint and the circumstances, the name of the author who is the subject of the complaint, and/or the article or the services that are subject to the complaint. Persons who send complaints to the editorial staff of the journal must be sure that these complaints will be considered within a reasonable period. While handling the complaints, the editorial staff will follow the adopted publishing ethics of the journal.
