Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses an 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

GENERALITIES

  • The Journal will be published once per year. Please note that the editorial board reserves the right to reject any article that does not meet the following guidelines. Before publishing, the articles will be sent to independent, anonymous reviewers to assess. Positive reviews will ensure its reliability.
  • To be accepted for publication, a paper should clearly highlight the results of the original research.
  • Any paper will be rejected if it has already been published, in whole or in part, elsewhere.
  • The papers should be written in two languages – Georgian and English identical versions. For the English version, please have your paper checked by a native speaker.
  • The length for the papers should not exceed 4,000 words, including footnotes and references.
  • The text should be accompanied by an abstract, up to 250-300 words, followed by 5 keywords.
  • The paper must carry the full name, affiliation, and email of the author(s).
  • Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.
  • The papers should be submitted in a Word copy for Windows (doc. or .docx) and a PDF copy.

FORMATTING

  • Paper size: A4.
  • Margins: normal (top: 2 cm, bottom: 2 cm, left: 3 cm, right: 1.5 cm).
  • Fonts: Sylfaen for Georgian text, Times New Roman for English and Russian texts. Please attach special fonts if used for diacritics.
  • Font size of the main text: 11 pt.
  • Font size of the footnotes: 9 pt.
  • Manuscripts should be single-spaced.
  • Do not number pages.
  • Author(s) names: left corner of the page; 12 pt.
  • Institutional affiliation: immediately under the author(s) names; 11 pt.
  • Email: immediately under the institutional affiliation; 11 pt.
  • Title: centered, all CAPITALS (for English version), bold; 14 pt.
  • Abstract: up to 250-300 words followed by 5 keywords, one interval after the title (font size: 11).
  • Images, drawings, graphs, charts, etc. – JPG format

GENERATIVE AI DECLARATION

  • Authors must disclose the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process by including a statement in the core manuscript file.
  • The use of basic tools for grammar checking, spelling correction, reference management, or similar routine editorial assistance does not require declaration.
  • If no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in the preparation of the manuscript, no declaration is required.

Statement Format

This statement must be placed immediately before the References list, under the heading:

Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in the Manuscript Preparation Process

During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL / SERVICE] in order to [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the published article.

For the Georgian version of the manuscripts, please use the following statement format:

განცხადება გენერაციული ხელოვნური ინტელექტის (Gen AI) და მისი დამხმარე ტექნოლოგიების გამოყენების თაობაზე ხელნაწერის მომზადების პროცესში

ამ ნაშრომის მომზადებისას ავტორმა(-ებმა) გამოიყენა(-ენეს) [ინსტრუმენტის/სერვისის დასახელება] [დაწერეთ რა მიზნით]. ამ ინსტრუმენ­ტის/სერვისის გამოყენების შემდეგ, ავტორმა(-ებმა) საჭიროებისამებრ გადა­ხედა(-ეს) და შეასწორა(-ეს) შინაარსი და სრულად იღებს(-ენ) პასუხისმგებ­ლობას გამოქვეყნებული სტატიის შინაარსზე.

REFERENCES

  • References should appear in the text in parentheses, not indicated in the footnotes, as: Author’s last name + year of publication, page/pages, i.e. (Javakhishvili 1998, 156) and written out in full in a References list at the end of the article in alphabetical order according to the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed. For Books: 

Author’s last name, author’s first name or initial. Year of publication. Book title in italic script. City: Publishing House.

E.g.:    Pereira, Christophe. 2010. Le parler arabe de Tripoli (Libye). Zaragoza: Universidad de Zaragoza.

For Journal Articles: 

Author’s last name, author’s first name or initial. Year of publication. "Article’s title set in quotation marks." Journal’s title in italic script and issue number: page numbers.

E.g.:    Petrova, Yulia. 2014. “The Compound Tense Forms in Egyptian Arabic.” Romano-Arabica XIV: 263-276.

  • In the English version of the articles, non-English literature in Georgian, Russian, and other languages should be written in Latin transliteration. 

E.g.:    Chlaidze, Lia. 2006. Kavkasiuri folklori. Tbilisi: kavkasiuri saxli.

Tsereteli, George. 1956. Arabskie dialekti Srednej Azii, I. Bukharskij arabskij dialekt. Tbilisi: izdatel’stvo Akademii Nauk Gruzinskoj SSR.

  • Do not include in the References list items you did not quote in your paper.
